- Aug 19, 2020 Motorists now have the option of renewing their drivers' licence online. The Ministry of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology (MIST), in collaboration with the Barbados Postal Service and Barbados Licensing Authority, today launched the online service, virtually.
- Drivers from out of province must obtain an Ontario driver's licence if staying more than 90 days. New residents of Ontario may only apply after residing in the province for 60 days. Starting June 2009, Ontario began issuing Enhanced Drivers Licences (EDLs) as an option to residents upon request.
With Drive Barbados, you can avoid all this nuisance. As a qualified driver whose licence has expired, the process for renewal is a simple one. Visit any of our locations and complete the necessary application form and pay the prescribed fee. (The amount will be determined by the group of licence you hold and the period for which it is renewed).

Due to COVID-19, the Ontario government is keeping Service Ontario locations as low-key as possible and extending the validity on driver's licenses, health cards and other government-issued certificates.
'Based on the advice of Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health to stop the spread of COVID-19, all full-time DriveTest Centres and part-time Travel Point locations will be closed. The closures will take effect March 23, 2020 until further notice,' the government website reads.
The website states that Ontarians won't lose their current license due to the decision, but doesn't specify if that includes those with G1 or G2 licenses coming up on their best-before dates. Driving.ca reached out to the Ministry of Transportation and confirmed that all licenses including G1s and G2s 'will continue to remain valid and legal past the expiry until further notice.'
This may come as good news for those dreading their upcoming test as it provides a bunch of extra time to practice and study. But it's not the all-clear you might've hoped for if you're reading this hoping Ontario would go the way of Georgia, which, in an effort to clear the backlog in the system, issued nearly 20,000 licenses to teens without making them first take a road test.
